鄭州大學(xué)西亞斯國(guó)際學(xué)院由美國(guó)西亞斯集團(tuán)公司投資，與鄭州大學(xué)合作，美國(guó)堪薩斯州富特海斯州立大學(xué)（Fort Hays State University,英文縮寫FHSU）協(xié)辦的中外合作辦學(xué)機(jī)構(gòu)，屬于鄭州大學(xué)二級(jí)學(xué)院，是河南省首家被國(guó)務(wù)院學(xué)位辦公室批準(zhǔn)可以實(shí)施境外學(xué)士學(xué)位教育合作項(xiàng)目的全日制本科院校，并開設(shè)有國(guó)外留學(xué)生教育項(xiàng)目。我院現(xiàn)建有商學(xué)院、電子信息工程學(xué)院、外語(yǔ)學(xué)院、國(guó)際教育學(xué)院、音樂(lè)學(xué)院、美術(shù)學(xué)院、法學(xué)院、基礎(chǔ)教育學(xué)院、體育學(xué)院、護(hù)理學(xué)院、環(huán)境與社會(huì)責(zé)任學(xué)院、歌劇系和應(yīng)用認(rèn)知科學(xué)研究所。2008年，與鄭州大學(xué)合作實(shí)施培養(yǎng)碩士研究生教育項(xiàng)目。我院現(xiàn)開設(shè)文學(xué)、理學(xué)、工學(xué)、經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、管理學(xué)、醫(yī)學(xué)、法學(xué)和教育學(xué)等學(xué)科的本科和專科專業(yè)76個(gè)（含方向），在校生20000余人。我院位于河南省鄭州新鄭市人民路東段168號(hào)，規(guī)劃用地2200余畝，實(shí)際建設(shè)用地1200畝，現(xiàn)有建筑面積41萬(wàn)平方米。校園環(huán)境優(yōu)美，景色怡人，怪石嶙峋，瀑布飛流，草木繁茂，花團(tuán)錦簇，是一個(gè)適合讀書、工作和生活的地方。2004年4月20日，在美國(guó)國(guó)會(huì)第108次全體會(huì)議上，通過(guò)了《關(guān)于表彰中國(guó)、鄭州，西亞斯國(guó)際學(xué)院的決議》，決議指出：“基于國(guó)際學(xué)術(shù)合作的理念，陳博士創(chuàng)建了西亞斯國(guó)際學(xué)院，并為未來(lái)的中國(guó)教育樹立了典范。”河南省政府和鄭州市政府，分別于2004年和2005年，向?qū)W院創(chuàng)辦人陳肖純理事長(zhǎng)頒發(fā)了“黃河友誼獎(jiǎng)”和“商都友誼獎(jiǎng)”，以表彰他的突出貢獻(xiàn)。我院憑借自身的綜合實(shí)力與優(yōu)勢(shì)，先后榮獲國(guó)家相關(guān)部委和國(guó)家級(jí)相關(guān)媒體單位頒發(fā)的“中國(guó)外資本科院校十大影響力品牌”、“中國(guó)教育總評(píng)榜十佳中外合作院校”、“中國(guó)外資本科院校最具競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力品牌”、“中國(guó)十大中外合作院校”、“中國(guó)最具就業(yè)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力院校”等稱號(hào)。我院現(xiàn)有計(jì)算機(jī)、聽力設(shè)備、健身房、多媒體教室、綜合音樂(lè)表演廳、露天劇場(chǎng)等教學(xué)設(shè)施。圖書館藏書60萬(wàn)冊(cè)。學(xué)生公寓設(shè)有學(xué)習(xí)間、臥室和衛(wèi)生間，配有熱水、暖氣設(shè)備、桌椅、寬帶接口和電話端口。我院體育設(shè)施先進(jìn)齊全。現(xiàn)有燈光網(wǎng)球場(chǎng)、塑膠田徑運(yùn)動(dòng)場(chǎng)、籃球場(chǎng)、體操排練廳、室內(nèi)體育館、室內(nèi)籃球館和室內(nèi)恒溫游泳館。我院以國(guó)際化的辦學(xué)理念為指導(dǎo)，依托鄭州大學(xué)和美國(guó)堪薩斯州富特海斯州立大學(xué)（FHSU）的優(yōu)質(zhì)教育資源，實(shí)現(xiàn)以培養(yǎng)適應(yīng)經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化、有國(guó)際意識(shí)、國(guó)際交往能力、國(guó)際競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力的專業(yè)人才為目標(biāo)。通過(guò)引進(jìn)國(guó)際先進(jìn)的管理經(jīng)驗(yàn)，人才模式和教師、教材等優(yōu)質(zhì)教育資源，加速人才和文化的國(guó)際交流。我院現(xiàn)有外籍教師100多人，外籍教師與學(xué)生數(shù)量之比居全國(guó)之冠。外籍教師全英語(yǔ)授課，豐富的英文原版書刊及音像教材，優(yōu)越的英語(yǔ)教學(xué)環(huán)境，可提高學(xué)生英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)、聽力和翻譯技能，直接聽取美國(guó)教授的學(xué)位課程。并有美國(guó)資深教育家組成的顧問(wèn)團(tuán)和基金會(huì)，對(duì)我院辦學(xué)進(jìn)行督導(dǎo)與支持，旨在把學(xué)院建設(shè)成一所國(guó)際化、現(xiàn)代化、資訊化和科學(xué)化的高等學(xué)府。我院組織學(xué)生開展豐富多彩的課外活動(dòng)，包括中國(guó)校園文化活動(dòng)和美國(guó)校園文化活動(dòng)，形成了中西薈萃的文化氛圍。我院每年組織的重大活動(dòng)有：迎新燭光晚會(huì)暨開學(xué)典禮、國(guó)際文化節(jié)、科技文化藝術(shù)節(jié)、家長(zhǎng)訪校日、畢業(yè)典禮、國(guó)際夏令營(yíng)、冬令營(yíng)等。除了全院師生廣泛參加外，我院還邀請(qǐng)社會(huì)各界和美國(guó)及世界其他國(guó)家各種代表團(tuán)來(lái)院訪問(wèn)交流。我院舉辦的中外學(xué)術(shù)名人系列講座、體育比賽和文藝聯(lián)歡等活動(dòng)，深受師生歡迎。我院注重學(xué)生的全面發(fā)展，在全省及全國(guó)的各種比賽中，成績(jī)均名列前茅。我院田徑隊(duì)在2004北京國(guó)際馬拉松賽小馬拉松組上獲得冠軍；在河南省第九屆大學(xué)生藝術(shù)節(jié)中，我院學(xué)生獲得一個(gè)一等獎(jiǎng)、兩個(gè)二等獎(jiǎng)；我院運(yùn)動(dòng)隊(duì)在河南省高校運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)上獲得團(tuán)體總分第三名；2005年，我院承辦了河南省高校四大體育賽事，取得圓滿成功，并獲得多項(xiàng)冠軍。在CCTV杯第六屆“希望之星”英語(yǔ)風(fēng)采大賽河南賽區(qū)的決賽中，我院英語(yǔ)演講隊(duì)五位選手分列前五名。在全國(guó)青少年英語(yǔ)演講賽、河南省大學(xué)生中文辯論賽、法律知識(shí)辯論賽等眾多賽事中，西亞斯學(xué)院均取得優(yōu)異成績(jī)。2006年8月，我院兩支籃球隊(duì)在首屆HUBA河南省大學(xué)生籃球聯(lián)賽暨第九屆CUBA中國(guó)大學(xué)生籃球聯(lián)賽河南賽區(qū)預(yù)選賽上分別獲得乙組冠軍和體育專業(yè)組冠軍。2006年10月，我院中文辯論隊(duì)榮獲鄭州大學(xué)2006年度“優(yōu)勝杯”大學(xué)生辯論賽冠軍。2007年，外語(yǔ)學(xué)院學(xué)生薛道娜同學(xué)獲中央電視臺(tái)CCTV杯全國(guó)大學(xué)生英語(yǔ)演講大賽河南省賽區(qū)第一名，在全國(guó)總決賽中獲優(yōu)勝獎(jiǎng)。2007年10月，我院足球隊(duì)在全國(guó)足球業(yè)余聯(lián)賽總決賽中獲得第五名；2007年12月，在2007中國(guó)全明星啦啦操錦標(biāo)賽中，我院參賽隊(duì)獲得技巧啦啦隊(duì)一等獎(jiǎng)，舞蹈啦啦隊(duì)二等獎(jiǎng)。2008年3月在“李寧杯”全國(guó)大學(xué)生足球聯(lián)賽河南賽區(qū)預(yù)選賽中我院高水平運(yùn)動(dòng)組獲得冠軍；2008年5月我院選手在河南省第七屆國(guó)際標(biāo)準(zhǔn)舞錦標(biāo)賽上分別獲得青年組B組第四名、第六名的好成績(jī)；2008年7月在河南省第十五屆大學(xué)生田徑運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)上我院運(yùn)動(dòng)員獲得5金、7銀、11銅的好成績(jī)。我院歌劇系在系主任、我國(guó)著名聲樂(lè)教育家武秀之教授的帶領(lǐng)下編排的音樂(lè)劇《中國(guó)蝴蝶》于2008年10月在首屆中國(guó)校園戲劇節(jié)上獲得“優(yōu)秀劇目獎(jiǎng)”、“組織獎(jiǎng)”，劇中祝英臺(tái)扮演者付虹莉老師獲得個(gè)人獎(jiǎng)——“校園戲劇之星”。2009年3月，我院成功承辦第十一屆中國(guó)大學(xué)生籃球聯(lián)賽（CUBA）西北賽區(qū)決賽。我院畢業(yè)生就業(yè)形勢(shì)喜人，河南省教育廳就業(yè)處的統(tǒng)計(jì)數(shù)據(jù)顯示，我院2005年至今（05年本、?？飘厴I(yè)生就業(yè)率分別為97.39%和98.98%，06年本、?？飘厴I(yè)生就業(yè)率分別為98.87%、99.20%，07年本、?？飘厴I(yè)生就業(yè)率分別為97.67%、98.7%，08年本、專科畢業(yè)生就業(yè)率分別為98.62%、98.72%）學(xué)生就業(yè)率一直穩(wěn)居河南省高校前列。他們以其英語(yǔ)口語(yǔ)好、思想觀念新、業(yè)務(wù)基礎(chǔ)牢、表達(dá)能力強(qiáng)、善于交際和溝通的特點(diǎn)深受用人單位的好評(píng)。還有許多畢業(yè)生考取了國(guó)內(nèi)外重點(diǎn)大學(xué)的研究生。 Sias International University is the first solely American-owned University in Central China. Affiliated with Zhengzhou University and in cooperation with Fort Hays State University of Kansas, it is a totally new type of university designed in response to current educational demands. The establishment of Sias has been approved by the State Council and licensed by the Henan Provincial Education Commission to carry out higher institutional education. It is the first university that has been permitted by the State Degree Office to offer core classes such as Western Civilization, Sociology and Government.The aim of Sias International University is to develop diligent and innovative professionals to meet the urgent demands of trans-national corporations and enterprises. Combining both Chinese educational philosophies with a Western model of education, Chinese students have the benefit of a fresh learning perspective while having access to alternative ways of thinking about business and liberal arts.Since its first graduating class in 2002, Sias graduates have been in a position to gain employment by American and Chinese corporations. Due to their well-rounded international education, a wide range of unique experiences through service organizations and clubs, and a variety of hands-on activities, Sias graduates are expected to grow into the civic and community leaders of tomorrow.Ideal Location in a Traditional Chinese Setting: Situated in the heartland of central China near the Yellow River in Henan province, the town of XinZheng houses the Sias campus and is the birthplace of Chinese history dating back over 5,000 years. Numerous archeological sites are in close proximity to the Sias campus including the dynastic ruins of several ancient Chinese capitals such as ZhengZhou, Luoyang, Kaifeng, and others.Unlike many of the other international programs in China, the location and environment surrounding Sias retains much of traditional Chinese culture, allowing the student to experience the "real" China. Just outside the campus, students can still see "rural" China and village farm life, while also witnessing in the same panoramic view the current industrialization of modern China in nearby cities and the emerging middle class urban neighborhoods. Soft Landing: Sias is located in rural, central China but offers the latest in Western style amenities and creature comforts such as fully furnished modern housing, airport pickups and transfers upon arrival and departure, and a Western food cafeteria with meals prepared by an American chef. Many other services and benefits are available including a state of the art gymnasium and swimming pool, an on-campus health clinic, help in establishing a local bank account, and numerous other recreational activities including historical and cultural field trips. Sias is able to offer these services because of its experience in dealing with large numbers of foreigners over the last decade including the presence of one hundred foreign faculty who are always available to assist and befriend international students, making the Sias experience not only educational and fun, but nearly hassle free.
