Plasma-based low-energy ion implantation, including plasma source ion nitriding and plasma source ion carburizing, has been emerged as a low-temperature, low-pressure modification approach for steel.

等離子體基低能離子注入是一種鋼的低溫、低壓表面改性方法，它包括等離子體源離子滲氮和等離子體源離子滲碳兩種工藝等離子體基低能離子注入的主要傳質(zhì)機(jī)制是低能離子注入一同步熱擴(kuò)散，即在低脈沖負(fù)偏壓作用下的離子首先完成不依賴于工藝溫度的低能離子注入，然后己注入的原子在較低的工藝溫度下發(fā)生足夠的熱擴(kuò)散等離子體熱擴(kuò)散吸收具有補(bǔ)充的傳質(zhì)作用，但由于工藝溫度較低，這種作用很小連續(xù)的熱擴(kuò)散過程有利于改善注入吸收條件，等離子體湮沒也可以防止已注入原子的反向逸出，二者對傳質(zhì)過程具有促進(jìn)作用。
